Okay, I really did mean to post this week. No idea what happened.
But I can tell you what happened tonight! I decided that I really should use more of my bed for sleeping, and less of it for storage. And so I cleaned off my bed. And now, it's 1:30 in the morning, and I am wide awake. No bueno. On the upside, when I want to stay up past 12 on Friday (ringing in the new year and all that), then I might be able to make it. I'm sure lots of coffee will help with that as well.
Umm...anyway. I have a music count going on at work. Depending on which station we're listening to, I'm either counting how many times I hear the band Train (when we're listening to the soft rock station), or the song "Like a G6" (the annoying pop station). Monday, it was 2 counts of Train. Tuesday, it was 3 counts of G6. Today it was only 2 counts of G6. Of course, we only had the pop station on for about 3 hours today. Man, I really hate the G6 song. Mostly because it has the word "Slizzard" in it.
No, for the sake of your sanity, I will not post a link to the G6 song. If you're that curious, go YouTube it. But my favorite blogger, Todd in the Shadows, did a review, and I can only agree with Todd. Bad, bad song. Oh, and "slizzard" is slang for...getting drunk off of Nyquill. Yep, 12 year old antics.
Oh, and it only gets worse. I heard 2 Katy Perry songs in 1 hour. 2 songs!! Make it stop! I really hate her music...and when she sings/talks? Make it stop.
Anyway...that's about it for now. I'll talk with you more soon!
I promise...I'll be around. Tomorrow is all about returning Christmas gifts. Yikes.

Yay!
Okay, let me just say, I meant to blog a lot more recently.
This, however, is a quickie. More when I get home from work.
But, I just want to wish Oregon and myself a happy 1 year anniversary!

A Few More Things
That post was getting too long. I opted for a new one instead.
I realized something today. Do y'all remember the Hamster Dance website? It played that annoying song over and over and over and over again? I was watching "Robin Hood" (the Disney version), and realized IT'S THE SAME SONG. I'm serious. Click on each one and compare.
There was something else. Oh yeah, I still hate deadlines. Even personally imposed ones. Ugh. So much to do, so little time.
Remember my little moment about eccentricities? I came home only to realize that I hadn't put my laundry away because I had been too tired at the time. Shh....let's not talk about it.
Oh, yeah, and it's been 2 days without coffee. No bueno.
I've recently acquired "The Muppets: Treasure Island". I'm thinking that this movie (along with "Gremlins" and "Die Hard") should be mandatory Christmas movies. Because Christmas should always involve: 80's creatures, Alan Rickman, and Tim Curry. Sorry, but it's true. The best part? 10 to 1 says Devin will agree with me.
Night!

Winner!
Okay, so I am not a winner in life today. Mostly because I am too tired to care.
Actually, I've found some really great things out today. Mainly being that one my loans is being deferred, so I'll actually have money to buy gas and stuff. Woohoo!
In other news... I'm interviewing for a part time position to help supplement my income. The really funny part? It's at my old store. Well, the local branch of my old store. Oh, the irony. Or something.
Can I say...I am really tired of Christmas music. And am pretty much ready for the holidays to be done now.
Speaking of...I have a funny story.
So, SWMBO sent me a box. It included my gifts, and my stocking (which I was most excited about). I went over to Devin's after work yesterday so we could hang stockings. Me, and the one my mom needlepointed for me, and Devin's hideous stocking. They look silly. I'll take pictures and post them.
Anyway, I opened gifts while I was there. I got a nice purse from Italy, a gorgeous shot glass from Italy, and tea from London. I toss Devin the tea box (not that he drinks tea), and he goes, "it's been taped shut. I'm going to open it." I give my consent, and he does. My response?
Me: "It's tea. I bet it looks like tea."
Him: (Opens box) "Tea. Right."
Hands me the box. I close the box and put it to the side. A couple of minutes go by.
Him: "Lindy, are you really not going to open the box of tea?"
Me: "It's tea. It looks like tea."
Him: "Open the box."
I open the box. Most definitely NOT tea. It was, in fact, an iPod Nano. Which is so tiny!! I love it. And, 16 gigs, which means that I can have all kinds of music on it. My old iPod was the first generation mini, and it holds about 6 gigs. I think. And the battery has pretty much gone kaput on me.
Of course, I had to spend about 5 minutes berating myself. In my family, you NEVER trust the box. It's a bad, bad idea.
Though, the purse I receive, the box said that it was for my aunt La-la. So there you go.
The best part was that opened that one first because I could have sworn it was going to be the iPod. I wasn't expecting a Nano. And a green one at that!
I love my family. They know of my secret love for things noisy, colorful, and tacky. I've tried to cover it up, because now I'm a grown up, but I still love those types of things. Oh, and things that light up. I love things that light up and sing!

Eccentricities
So, every one has those weird eccentricities, right? Those absolutely weird things that drive you nuts?
Devin's is leaving time on the microwave. I have to admit, sometimes I do it on purpose just to irritate him. Though, sometimes it really is an accident.
Mine is laundry. I hate it when I don't get a chance to put my clean laundry away. It's just one of those things.
Anyway...that moment of randomness was brought to you by Tide and Bounce.

The New Job
The new job is good. I'm sure in a few months I'll find it mind-numbingly boring, but right now, it's just what I need.
Basically, I collate. And ship. Stuff I've done before. The people I work with are fun, which is nice. A little crazy, but you know how I like those type of people.
Right now, we're listening to the Christmas station. When the season is over, the station is switching back to soft rock. I'm not sure if I'm excited or worried about that.
Anyway, I'm loving the regular hours, even if that means I have to sit in traffic. The joyous part is that we don't have that much traffic here as we ever did anywhere else.
So, yeah. Give it time, and I'll go nuts, but for now, I love it.

The Holidays, Part 2
So, on to happier topics of the holiday. First and foremost... I have Thursday and Friday off both this coming up week and the week after for the holidays. Bad for my paycheck, yes. Good for my sanity? No real distinction either way. But, good for my sleep habits, yes.
Devin and I braved the mall today. Actually, we braved the biggest mall in the entire state today. Yeah, it's the one I live a couple miles away from. We did pretty good. Spent about 2 hours there, and Devin finished his shopping. I helped pick things out. Awesome.
Also, we celebrated Saturnelia today. Don't know what Saturnelia is? Join the masses. Or, click here to see the Wikipedia page (but feel free to ignore the message from Jimmy Wales). Basically, it's one of the pagan holidays that Christianity took over.
The best part? We got titled for the evening. I was titled "Empress of America". Yep, supreme ruler. How freaking awesome is that? So, really, I should be speaking the in royal "we".
And I met some fun people, ate good food (duck a l'orange, quail, clams, waldorf salad, cheese, wine, sweet potato pie...), and had a good time.
I'm mostly excited about the holidays. I'm really excited for when my stocking gets here, so Devin and I can hang our stockings. He let me get one for him.
This is how you can tell he's a keeper. I bought him an aqua stocking with sequins on it. It's hideous. I told him that if he really hated it, I would return it. He just smiled, laughed, and told me to keep it. So I wrote his name on it in black puffy paint and glitter glue. Yeah, it's pretty awesome, and so is he.
So, when my stocking gets here (Monday or Tuesday), we'll hang them. Where, I have no idea. But we will.

The Holidays, Part 1
Okay, there are going to be a couple of holiday posts, considering that I have a lot of different things to say. This one is going to be the sad one. Sorry. Feel free to skip it if you want to.
This is my first Christmas away from my family. I'm a little sad. Okay, more than a little. It's not just missing traditions, it's everything.
Part of it is that they keep playing the Christmas station at work. And all the holiday tunes make me think of my family. Not just my Mom, sister, and those who I used to see all the time, but my extended family as well.
Not that I'm not enjoying Oregon. I celebrated Saturnalia today (more on that later), have holiday things planned, and even baked cookies here. But it's just not the same.
I guess this is growing up.
And now, this is me, not complaining anymore.

Update
Haha! Success is mine!!
Okay, so my two cryptic issues? Resolved.
The first was that I hated my job and would take just about any excuse to not go in. I was waiting to see a few things and what was happening so that I could quit. I swore to myself that I would not start the new year working there.
And, success. I have found another job that pays better, has better hours, and starts on Tuesday. You know what that means? This is my last day working at a call center. I lasted 6 months, so that's something.
The other thing, well, let's just say, everything is fine.
Now, I'm going to go fax in my paperwork for my new job, and take a drug test, and then, go to work. And tell them that I'm sorry, but today will be my last day.
Oh, glorious freedom. No more people asking what I can do for them. No more "beep beep" of a new call coming in. No more listening to Sprint hold music, fighting with customers about money, or trying to explain why someone has a past due amount.
Nothing is going to make me unhappy today.

Gone
Hey everyone! Sorry I've been gone so much lately. It's been a weird, complicated, stressful few weeks.
Unfortunately, what that means is that the funny sardonic-ness that I can do, is gone. Right now, I'm stressed, upset, worried, exhausted, and fighting heartburn and panic attacks again.
But, I am hopefully going to resolve THOSE issues soon. At least the major contributing factor. No details yet, because I don't want to give away the super-awesome surprise, but I have a plan. A multi-pronged plan, but a plan.
Well, for the biggest stressful thing. For the other...only time will tell.
Cryptic? Yeah. But sometimes, cryptic gets the job done. Otherwise, I'd be telling everyone everything, making a bigger deal out of it than it might possibly be, and just feel like an idiot. Hopefully, very few will know the bounds of my idiocy.
Anyway. Other exciting things. The holidays are upon us, and much to my chagrin, I'm not going to get out of holiday shopping. I'll have to do at least some minor shopping, in stores. Sigh.
Devin and I are planning a Christmas movie marathon this weekend. It includes Christmas classics such as: "Gremlins", "Die Hard", and "Die Harder". He won't let me watch "The Star Wars Christmas Special", which everyone tells me is a good thing, but I'm all kinds of curious about.
We went shopping at this vintage place last weekend, and the shop had a kitten. I'm now on a crusade to convince Devin we need a kitten. I think he'll probably stick with wanting a turtle, mouse, or lizard of some sort.
Hung out with Thomas, Cam, and Cyrus this weekend, among others. I miss the guys. We're planning a "Get away from the family" Christmas party on Christmas night. I'm stoked.
A few decorating ideas while on a budget: (1) Pine scented air fresheners. Smells like Christmas, and comes in the handy little tree shape! (2) Paper snowflakes. Like from elementary school. Winner in my book. (3) Gingerbread cut outs. You can shape them how ever you want. And what isn't fun about that?
Well, that's all from Lindy-land. Interview bright and early in the morning tomorrow. The best I can say is, wish me luck!
